PhotoClean · PhotoClean: Photo Cleaner
dongzoolee(이하 ‘개발자’)는 사진 정리 앱 PhotoClean(스토어 이름 ‘PhotoClean: Photo Cleaner’, 이하 ‘앱’)을 제공하며, 이 방침으로 앱이 어떤 정보를 어떻게 다루는지 설명합니다.
4. 광고(Google AdMob)
- 광고 식별자: iOS의 IDFA(앱 추적 투명성 요청에서 허용한 경우에만), Android의 광고 ID
|---|---|
Google LLC (policies.google.com/privacy) |

PhotoClean · PhotoClean: Photo Cleaner
Privacy Policy
dongzoolee (“the developer”) provides the photo cleaning app PhotoClean (store name “PhotoClean: Photo Cleaner”, “the app”). This policy explains what information the app handles and how. The app has no sign-up and no server run by the developer, and your photos and the analysis results never leave your device. Ads in the app are provided by Google AdMob; the information involved is described in section 4.
1. Photo library access and analysis
The app accesses your photo library only if you allow it, and does the following with those photos and videos only on your device.
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Thumbnails already on the device | Displaying photos and calculating perceptual hashes (pHash, dHash), average color, sharpness, edge strength and brightness |
| Capture and modification time, resolution, file size, media type | Grouping duplicates and similar shots, choosing the photo to keep, finding large videos, estimating space you can free up |
| Favorite flag, screenshot flag | Keeping favorites first and sorting screenshots |
| Album membership (iOS) | Moving the album membership and favorite flag of deleted copies to the photo you keep when merging duplicates |
- Photos, thumbnails and analysis results are never sent to the developer or any third party and are never used for advertising.
- The app never downloads originals from iCloud Photos. Photos without a thumbnail on the device may be skipped.
- If you allow access to only some photos (such as Selected Photos), only those photos are analyzed.
- The app does not request or read the location data stored in photos.
2. Information stored on your device and retention
- Analysis cache: per-photo analysis results, saved as a JSON file in the app's Documents folder so that later runs only analyze new or changed photos. Entries for photos removed from your library are dropped from the cache.
- Swipe to clean progress: your keep and delete choices for each month, saved as a JSON file in the same folder.
- Settings and cleanup stats: theme, language, similar photo matching, the personalized ads setting, and the number of photos cleaned and space freed so far, saved in the device's local storage.
This information exists only on your device and the developer cannot see it. Analyze everything again in Settings clears the analysis cache, and deleting the app deletes all of it. If device backup (such as iCloud Backup or Android backup) is on, it may be included in backups according to your operating system's rules.
3. Deleting photos
- Every deletion and duplicate merge goes through the operating system's confirmation prompt. If you decline, nothing is deleted.
- iOS: deleted photos move to Recently Deleted in the Photos app and can be recovered for 30 days.
- Android 11 and later: deleted photos move to the system trash and are removed for good after 30 days.
- Android 8–10: there is no system trash, so photos are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. The app tells you this before deleting.
- If you use iCloud Photos, deletions also apply to your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC: a banner and a native ad on the home screen, and, from your second cleanup on, a full-screen ad that may appear after a cleanup at most once every 3 minutes. The Google Mobile Ads SDK included in the app may collect and process the following to serve and measure ads and to prevent fraud.
- Advertising identifier: IDFA on iOS (only if you allow it in the App Tracking Transparency prompt) and the advertising ID on Android
- IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), device model, OS version, language and other device information
- Ad requests, impressions, clicks and other ad interactions, and app usage events such as app launches used for ad measurement
Consent and choices
- Where consent is legally required, such as the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, the app shows Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form. You can then change your choices any time under Ad privacy options in Settings.
- On iOS, the IDFA is used only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
- Turning off Personalized ads in Settings makes the app request non-personalized ads only.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the device's ad settings.
Google's processing is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses information for advertising and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
5. Sharing and international transfers
The developer does not collect or keep your information, so it is never sold or shared by the developer. The advertising information in section 4 is sent directly to Google by the Google Mobile Ads SDK and may be processed outside your country as follows.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Recipient | Google LLC (policies.google.com/privacy) |
| Countries | The United States and other countries where Google operates data centers |
| Information | Advertising identifier, IP address, device information, ad interactions and app usage events |
| When and how | Sent over the network (HTTPS) when ads are requested and shown while you use the app |
| Purpose | Serving ads, measuring ad performance, preventing fraud |
| Retention | As set out in Google's Privacy Policy |
You can limit this by turning off personalized ads and not allowing the use of your advertising identifier. To stop ad requests entirely, delete the app.
6. Usage statistics and crash reports
The developer has not added any analytics or crash-reporting SDK to the app, and the app has no feature that sends your usage to the developer (see section 4 for ad measurement by the Google Mobile Ads SDK).
If you have chosen in your device settings to share information with app developers, Apple and Google may provide the developer with crash reports and aggregate statistics collected by the operating system, through App Store Connect and Google Play Console. The developer does not use this information to identify anyone.
7. Permissions the app requests
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Photo library read and write iOS: full or limited access Android 13 and later: READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEOAndroid 12 and earlier: storage read and write | Analyzing photos and videos, and deleting or merging the photos you confirm |
| App Tracking Transparency (iOS) | Asking whether the IDFA may be used for personalized ads (optional) |
Advertising ID (Android, AD_ID) | Serving and measuring ads |
| Internet | Requesting ads |
| Vibration | Haptic feedback when you interact |
The app does not request location, microphone, camera or contacts permissions.
8. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 (under 14 in Korea), and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices and rights
- Photo access: change or revoke it in iOS Settings > Apps > PhotoClean > Photos, or Android Settings > Apps > PhotoClean > Permissions.
- Ads: use Personalized ads and Ad privacy options in the app, iOS tracking settings, or Android advertising ID settings, as described in section 4.
- Deleting data: deleting the app deletes all app data stored on the device. The developer keeps no information, so there is no server-side data to request deletion of.
For any privacy request or question, including access, correction or deletion, email me@leed.at.
10. Security
App data is stored in the storage area the operating system keeps separate for each app (the sandbox), which other apps cannot read. The developer keeps no user information on any server.
11. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Significant changes that affect you negatively will be announced on this page or in app update notes before they take effect.
