Duplicates
Merge identical copies into one
Copies you saved twice or got back from a chat app are matched with a perceptual hash. Tap Merge to keep the best copy and delete the rest.
Keeper: favorite → resolution → file size → earliest
PhotoClean finds duplicates, look-alike shots, screenshots, blurry photos and large videos for you. Every photo is analyzed on your device and never uploaded.
What it finds
PhotoClean analyzes your library on your device and sorts what you can probably let go into clear groups. You always review and decide what gets deleted.

Keep only the best of each burst
Shots taken close together are grouped into sets, with the sharpest one already picked as the keeper. Change it to any photo you like.

Merge duplicates
Every set comes with a keeper already picked and the rest marked for deletion. Want a different one? Long-press another photo to keep it instead.
On iPhone, merging also moves album membership and the favorite flag from the deleted copies to the photo you keep, in the same change.
Swipe to clean
Pick a month and flip through your photos one by one. Swipe left to delete, right to keep.
Safe deletion
PhotoClean never deletes anything behind your back. Every delete and merge goes through the iOS or Android system prompt. Decline it, and nothing is removed.
iOS
Deleted photos stay in Recently Deleted in the Photos app for 30 days, and you can recover them until then.
Recoverable for 30 days
Android 11 and later
Photos stay in the trash for 30 days before they're removed for good. Until then you can restore them from the trash in your gallery or files app.
Recoverable for 30 days
Android 8–10
These versions have no system trash, so deleted photos can't be recovered. The app tells you before anything is deleted.

FAQ
No. PhotoClean has no developer server. Your photos and the analysis results (hashes, sharpness, brightness, file sizes) are processed and stored only on your device. You don't need an account either.
On iOS, deleted photos go to Recently Deleted in the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days. On Android 11 and later, they go to the system trash for 30 days.
Android 8–10 has no system trash, so photos are deleted right away and can't be recovered. The app tells you before deleting in that case.
The best copy, chosen in this order: favorite → resolution → file size → earliest. To keep a different one, long-press it.
On iPhone, album membership and the favorite flag of the deleted copies move to the photo you keep.
PhotoClean analyzes the thumbnails already on your device and never downloads originals from iCloud. Photos without a local thumbnail (for example, some older photos offloaded by Optimize iPhone Storage) may be skipped.
If iCloud Photos is on, deleting a photo also deletes it from your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
It's free, and ads keep it that way. There's a banner and a native ad on the home screen, and from your second cleanup on, a full-screen ad may appear after a cleanup, at most once every 3 minutes.
Turn off Personalized ads in Settings to see only general ads that aren't based on your interests.
Yes. If you allow only some photos (for example, Selected Photos on iOS), PhotoClean analyzes and cleans up just those. You can allow more any time with Allow more on the home screen or Select more photos in Settings.
The first time, every photo in your library is analyzed one by one on your device, so larger libraries take longer. Keeping the app open helps it finish sooner.
Results are saved on your device, and later runs only analyze new or changed photos.
